A side outlet and plug are provided to increase space efficiency by minimizing interference to a front portion of the side outlet, and enhance coupling convenience by supplying power though the side of the outlet. A lower case(111) and an upper case(112) are combined by fasteners(118) to be formed therebetween. Power supply terminals(116) are formed at the central portion of the receptacle(113) and connected with power supply lines(117) for supplying power to the central portion of the receptacle(113). Insertion supply terminals(115) are connected to both sides of the power supply terminals(116) to supply power. Side insertion holes(114) are formed as through holes at the positions of the insertion supply terminals(115) at the both sides of the upper case(112) and the lower case(111). Supply jacks are formed at one sides of a side plug(120) such that they are insertedly combined into the side insertion holes(114) of a side outlet(110). A case(121) forms a receptacle(122) to receive the supply jacks therein. A coupling supply line(126) is coupled with a supply coupling terminal(124) in the receptacle(122) to supply power to a home appliance.
