<p>The support mechanism, especially for a motor vehicle boot lid contains at least one pressurised medium. The sliding piston in a cylinder has openings for the pressurised medium. The piston rod passes through cylinder end through a sliding seal. The support system ensures positive movements without dead or idle movements. The pressurised medium (1) has no dissolved gases. A sliding seal (7) in the medium filled region of the cylinder is deflected by the pressure. The sliding seal (7) is able to move axially within the cylinder. A compression spring (12) is provided in contact with cylinder end and piston and placed around the piston rod.</p> |
