1,127,941. Anti-skating device. DUAL GEBR. STEIDINGER. 11 Jan., 1966 [15 Jan., 1965], No. 1171/66. Heading G5R. In an anti-skating device which applies a torque to a pick up mounting to oppose the torque produced by the movement of the pick up across a record, the applied torque is adjustable according to the weight of the pick up. A two-armed lever 6 is pivotally mounted 7 on a disc 5 rotatable with the pick up and one of its arms is connected via a spring 9 to a pillar 17 mounted on the motor board and the other arm is connected to a pin 10 which extends through the disc 5 into a recess 11 in a member 13 which is mounted on the pick up yoke 12 and movable axially and rotationally against friction. By moving the member 13 axially a spur ring 14 integral therewith engages a spur ring 16 which adjusts the pick up weight, hence the position of the member 13, and via the pin 10, the position of the two-arm lever is set according to the pick up weight. The lever position may be varied from that shown in full line at which no torque is applied, since the position of the end of the lever connected to the spring coincides with the pick up axis 3, to the broken line position at which maximum opposition torque is applied.
|
