An assembly of rectangular bags in a frame has filter cloths made up from 3 textile layers (typically glass fabric sandwiched between two felt layers). Adjacent cloths of adjoining bags are sewn together to form strips. Air which enters the open mouths of the bag assembly passes into the bags, through the three-layer cloths and into the space between the adjacent bags, then leaving along the intervening paths between the lines of sewing which connect the bags. The system is used for multiple-bag filters used for air filtration in ventilation or air-conditioning systems. The construction is compact and the whole assembly is rigid; a min. of sewing is needed. |
