<p>PURPOSE: To individually enlarge plural small insertion figures of a multi-picture array into reproduce them momently by restoring and expanding the field, which is stored in each sector and is compressed, by a repeat sequence. CONSTITUTION: This equipment consists of a sub-sampling unit 28 which generates one sample for a prescribed number of continuously arranged input video samples, a memory 30 where this sub-sample is stored, and an interpolation device 32 which generates an interpolation sample from the stored sub- sample. The memory 30 is so operated that the sub-sample may be written with a certain frequency and may be read out with a different frequency to change the size of a picture. For the purpose of performing the momentary reproducing operation, the memory 30 has plural memory sectors loaded with sub-sampled fields of a video signal. Read-out sub-samples and interpolated sub-samples are synthesized to generate final output video samples to be supplied to a display device. Thus, a generated picture consists of a series of enlarged images, and momentary reproducing is possible.</p> |
