A shock absorber is provided to prevent a leakage from occurring due to a deformation of components such as a sealing plate by inserting the sealing member into an insertion groove of a rod guide such that the sealing member is deformed to be separated. A shock absorber(100) comprises a rod guide(80), a sealing member(83) and a bush(85). The shock absorber seals a base shell(52) into which a piston rod(70) is inserted. The piston rod is inserted into a middle of the rod guide. An insertion groove(80b) is formed at one inner side of the rod guide. The sealing member is installed in the insertion groove. The bush is inserted between the rod guide and the piston rod. An upper surface of the insertion groove has a length(L1) longer than a length(L2) of a lower surface of the insertion groove such that the upper surface covers an upper side of the sealing member and the lower surface is aligned in the same plane with an upper surface of the bush.
