1408742 Brushgear for dynamoelectric machines LUCIEN FERRAZ & CIE 28 Jan 1974 [8 Feb 1973] 03889/74 Heading H2A In a brush/brush-holder system, the outer end of a self-coiling constant pressure metallic ribbon spring 7 is secured to a plate 6 joined to a brush 3, and the brush and spring are mounted in a holder 1 such that the coiled portion 7a of the spring presses against an insulating sleeve 5 on an inclined portion 4a of a strip 4 which is fixed to the holder 1, and which protrudes through an aperture 1d therein; the reaction of the sleeve 5 thereby causes the spring to force the brush towards a rotating member 2 and also against a wall 1a of the holder. In the embodiment of Figs. 8, 9 (not shown), the sleeve 5 is mounted on a member (11) joined to a V-shaped spring (12) removably retained by two pins (13, 14). |
