Flameproofing components for wood chipboards consisting of boron compounds, inorganic acids and carrier materials are obtained by intimately mixing boron minerals with finely divided carrier materials and, under constant movement, spraying them with a mineral acid in such a concentration and amount as is sufficient for converting the boron minerals to boric acid and for forming a mixture which can be pelletised, which is pelletised and dried. The flameproofing components prepared by the process according to the invention are a stable, non-dusting product which is outstandingly suitable for producing flame-resistant wood chipboards. |
