The present invention relates to novel variant neublastin polypeptides that can be modified to enhance their pharmokinetic and bioavailability in vivo properties. The novel variant neublastin polypeptides conjugated with polymer moleculae. The invention also relates to nucleic acids encoding said polypeptides, to vectors comprising the nucleic acids, and to host cells comprising said vectors.The invention also relates to a method for making said polypeptides and hybrid proteins, and to use thereof for preparing a medicament for the treatment or prevention of nervous system disease or disorder.
