<p>The bucket, which is intended primarily for mounting on pile boring rigs, consists of a cap for attachment to the rig. a hydraulic jack (3) and spindle (4) are mounted in a central support and a sliding spindle is mounted on the framework of the bucket. Arms (8) are pivoted about lugs (7) attached to the body of the jack and attached by pivots (10) to the three blades (11) of the bucket which when closed meet at a central point (13). The blades are also pivoted about axles (12) attached to the framework of the bucket, and are provided with hooks (15) which break up the earth enabling the bucket to be emptied more easily. The hydraulic feed is through pipes in the interior of the jack spindles thus avoiding the need for exterior piping. The jack head is also protected by a skirt (20).</p> |
