The relief printing machine has a printing head with a number of needles thrust by solenoids into an anvil to print a dot on the paper. The head and anvil slide continuously and simultaneously in relation to the paper while a line is written. The anvil is a cylinder whose axis is parallel to the plane of the paper, and it has a number of peripheral grooves each opposite the needles. A punch has a flat end working with each needle, while its other and rounded end is thrust by each application of the needle into the corresponding groove, so as to print a raised dot on the paper. The punch is coupled to the head by return devices causing it to move along a circular path, to free its rounded end from the groove and paper.
