An electronic starter circuit is for cold gas discharge lamps. The starter provides a constant time delay whatever the previous electrical condition of the lamp and local ambient temperature. The delay is approx. 105 seconds, preferably 120 seconds. The starter circuit feeding the orthodox lamp choke is connected to the neutral side of the lamp by a fixed resistor in place of the positive temperature coefficient resistor of the original circuit. The delay period is initiated by switching on the lamp circuit via a fixed time constant IC delay which in turn derives a transistor switch and a following triac.
|
