Convex roll turning system - uses template with stylus linked to slides disconnected from numerical control system

The convex roll turning arrangement is used on numerically controlled lathes. The turning arrangement has a template with a stylus. This arrangement is used when the convexity cannot be produced by numerical control system of the machine. The convex turning attachment has low weight. The drive motor of the cross slide is disconnected from the numerical control system and it is actuated by the eccentric cam (9) and via the longitudinal slide movements controlled by the copying system and with speed reduction drive. A measuring transducer (15) is provided whose armature carries the stylus tracing the cam. The longitudinal slide (4) carries a tracking measuring transducer which acts in conjunction with the armature held on cross slide (5). This tracking transducer is connected to the adder of the slide drive motor.
