The reinforcement is for reinforced or prestressed concrete load bearing structures with high loading limits. It can be stressed to the limit, and is applicable to slabs, shells, panels and other flat units. The reinforcement (2) consists of wires, pref. assembled into matting. The wires or mats can be end-joined or anchored without special mechanical devices. They may be fitted centrally to the walling in a single layer; or arranged in several layers. Stirrup shackles (3) may be provided as additional reinforcement. For accommodation of normal and working loads the reinforcement may be supplemented by concrete steel rods of standard quality.
