摘要 <p>An electrooptic device, an electronic apparatus, and a method for driving the electrooptic device are provided to display different images in different directions with maintaining a frame frequency of the display of the electrooptic device. An electrooptic device(1) displays first and second images in different directions at the same time. An electrooptic panel(2) has a plurality of pixel rows in which first and second pixels are alternately arranged and a first polarizing plate(62). The electrooptic panel emits a display light through the first polarizing plate. A phase difference plate(30) is arranged on a display side of the first polarizing plate. A pair of liquid crystal layers(64,65) are arranged on the display side of the phase difference plate to be switched between a first orientation state and a second orientation state. The first orientation state does not assign a phase difference to a linear polarization having a polarization axis vertical or parallel to a transmission axis of the first polarizing plate. The second orientation state assigns a phase difference of lambda/2 to the linear polarization. A second polarizing plate(63) is arranged on a display side of the liquid crystal device and has a transmission axis parallel or vertical to the transmission axis of the first polarizing plate.</p>
