The scraper conveyer has a guide station for a central chain. The complete station is enclosed in a housing (2) with an inlet and outlet arm (40). The housing has an upward facing opening conforming to the course of the central chain. The side of the housing averted from the guide region has a flap for providing service and maintenance access. Each arm has two guides of which the one guide (36, 41) extends partly into the guide region and the other guide is positioned slightly sideways and backwards in the part of the housing averted from the guide region. Both guides can execute limited swivelling movement in the plane of the guide wheels.
