Self loading container lorry - has pivotted support arm to incline and slide container on bed roller

The container (18) is gripped at its front upper edge by an L shaped arm (34) which is pivotted on the chassis (36) and which is raised by a hydraulic servo (44). This raises the front edge of the container and tilts it about rollers (28) on the rear edge of the chassis. Further operation of the servo tilts the support arm fully over and drops the container to the ground. No further lifting equipment is required. To use the system as a tipper lorry the bottom pivot (36) of the L-shaped support arm can be on a raising fitting, using a second hydraulic servo. The container can then be tilted at a steep angle over the rear of the lorry.
