The TDM data transmission system, with bit interleaving, generates multiplexing addresses cheaply. It uses the multiplexing addresses to transmit data from different sources and of bit rates 50 and 75 or multiples of these rates. The repetition frequencies of the multiplexing addresses can be set so that the time slots of each TDM signal are occupied each by a multiplexing address. The system contains address generators with counters and producing twenty-four 5-bit words. Each bit in each work can have one of two specified states. A control circuit produces specified binary control signals.
