The convertible single-double bed unit, esp. for caravans etc., comprises two individed beds (1, 2) mounted at one end in a common base plinth (6) which is at least the width of a double bed. At least one of the single beds is displaceable on the plinth so that the beds can easily be adapted for single or double use. A guide unit (11) in the form oif a raised strip can be mounted on the plinth to engage in a transverse recess (12) in the underneath of the beds. Storage compartments can be provided in the plinth to use all available space.
