The dynamo has a hinged switch joint conecting it to the bicycle, and a case permanently connected to a part of the joint and consisting of a top and bottom parts. It holds a rotor and a stator and a shaft firmly connected with the rotor. The shaft carries on its far end a knurled roller pressed in its operating position to the bicycle tyre. The generator consists of preassembled units (211, 212) one of which comprises the case top part (213) with at least one element of the electromagnetic system. The other element connectable to the above consists of the case bottom (220) with the switch joint (222).
