Production of flat film resistor - has contact surfaces and resistive layer applied to ceramic body which is cut into separate resistors

The resistor consists of a flat body (1) on which a resistive layer is applied between two conducting contact surfaces. The contact surfaces (3) are applied on opposite main faces of the body near one of the edges and run parallel to the edge. The resistive layer (2) covers both main surfaces and one edge and ends on the contact surfaces. The elongated resistor body is then cut into individual resistors, each having a pair of contact surfaces running along one edge on opposite main faces of the body. Contact wires (4) are then attached to the contact surfaces.
