Parent patent disclosed a thread for winding round another, by a set offive parameters, including degree of orientation. In this addn. the winding thread may be partly-oriented high-polymer thread (defined as one whose mechanical properties are improved by stretching, but whose breaking elongation is =160%). The partly-oriented thread is pref. a spun thread (i.e., one made by melt spinning without subsequent stretching). It may be spun with a drawing speed in excess of 2500 m/min or (at a lower speed) by a crystallisation spinning process (e.g. DT 2117659). The partly-oriented thread is particularly useful in integrated processes.
