<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder capable of enhancing safety in use of the device at low cost without adding a new detection means by using a sheet abnormality detection means detecting abnormal conveying of the sheet for detection of other obstacles too. <P>SOLUTION: A document feeder 101 is provided with a document base 1 stacked with the sheets; a pickup roller 4 for feeding the document stacked on the document base 1; a document abnormality detection sensor SS1 for detecting the abnormal conveying at separation/feeding of the sheet and detecting the obstacle during movement of the document base 1; and a control part 45 for controlling feeding of the document and lifting action of the document base 1 when the abnormality is detected by the document abnormality detection sensor SS1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
