<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus and a connection information acquisition method therefor that detect an abnormal state to improve reliability wherein a base part is connectable with an expansion box. <P>SOLUTION: The base part 20 has a slot 22 connectable with an expansion board 23, and the slot 22 is connectable with the expansion box 30 having a PCI device 31 via a cable 25.
