PURPOSE:To prevent a crew from colliding against a door on a car body side part, when a vehicle is in collision, by connecting a subbag part, which is swollen to a side of the crew at the time of swelling a bag main unit, successively in line to the bag main unit which is swollen by a pressure of gas to impede front movement of the crew. CONSTITUTION:An air bag system 2 is constituted of an air bag 3 mounted to a base plate 1 and an inflator 4 which is similarly mounted to the base plate 1 to supply gas to the air bag 3. Here the air bag 3 is formed of a bag main unit 3a, which is swollen by a pressure of gas from the inflator 4 to impede a crew 5 from moving to the front, and a subbag part 3b which is provided successively in line with a rear end side part of the bag main unit 3a to swell to a side of the crew 5 at the time of swelling the bag main unit 3a. At the time of front part collision of a vehicle, the subbag 3b, is swollen between the crew 5 and a door 6 in a car body side part, thus the crew 5 is prevented from colliding against the door 6. |
