<p>In parent patent an installation for brushing the sides of square pieces of cheese laid out on a board on a table from which the pieces of cheese are pushed automatically through a vertical tunnel formed by brushing plates and into a horizontal tunnel similarly provided wit brushes. From the horizontal tunnel the cheeses are received into a trough and transferred to an empty board on a conveyor moving stepwise. In this addition, the horizontal tunnel is aligned towards the working side of the machine, and the horizontal support frame for the boards is moved little more than twice the width of the boards between two ends positions. One of these is below the horizontal tunnel, and the other is on the working side away from the guides at the end of the tunnel and the trough through which the cheeses fall onto the board. Two angle brackets displaceable vertically close onto the narrow side of the board to lift it into the range of the operator and as they lower again, they pivot outwards so as not to touch the board being filled. As the horizontal support frame moves outwards, it strikes an inclined support frame with rollers which pivot to allow the empty board to slide into position. The funnels into which the cheeses are pushed horizontally can be pivotted on their support frame through 90 degrees.</p> |
