PURPOSE:To simply perform discrimination within a short time by arranging a reinforcing bar to be measured and an Ag-AgCl electrode through an aqueous Ca(OH)2 solution and measuring the potential difference between them. CONSTITUTION:After the end surface of a reinforcing bar 3 is polished and washed, an Ag-AgCl electrode 2 is brought into contact with the reinforcing bar 3 through the aqueous Ca(OH)2 solution in a holding part 4 wherein a plastic container is packed with sponge. Lead wires 6 are connected to an adaptor 5 from the reinforcing bar 3 and the electrode 2 and the numerical value of potential as the value of the end surface of the reinforcing bar 3 to the electrode 2 is displayed on a handy type pH meter 1. There is marked difference in natural stationary potential between a common reinforcing bar and a salt- resistant reinforcing bar in the aqueous Ca(OH)2 solution and this difference tends to expand over a relatively long time. Therefore, both of them can be discriminated from the measured values of the meter 1. |
