<p>1494508 Matrix displays M J MILLER 16 Dec 1975 [20 Dec 1974] 55266/74 Headings G4H and G5C Control apparatus for a multicell plasma display device comprises an input store for storing addresses of cells to be illuminated and associated intensity codes, a tone control circuit for deriving category code signals from the least significant bits of address co-ordinate signals of each address and comparing the numerical value of the category code signals with the numerical value of the associated intensity code and producing a binary output signal dependent on their relative magnitude, and means responsive to the binary output signal for initiating the illumination of the addressed cell or not according to the value of the binary output signal. This signal is a yes/no signal. The category code signals are derived using connections and (in one embodiment) logic.</p> |
