GATE DRIVER FOR REDUCING POWER CONSUMPTION AND DISPLAY DEVICE HAVING THE SAME

A gate driver for reducing power consumption and display device having the same is provided to remove the loss of the current passing the gate line by reducing the load current between the common voltage port and the gate line. In a gate driver, a plurality of data lines and gate lines are formed to be interconnected each other in one substrate. A pixel is arranged at the cross-region of the data line and the gate line, and a timing controller(300) controls a data driver(400) and a gate driver(500). A timing controller outputs the first and second timing control signal(tc1 and Tc2) driving the data driver and the gate driver. The timing controller outputs the first and second timing control signals to data driver or the gate driver. A data driver supplies a data signal to a data line in response to the first timing control signal, and the gate driver supplies a scan signal(G1-G2m) to the gate line in response to the second timing control signal.
