<p>1471478 Disperse monoazo compounds SANDOZ Ltd 12 July 1974 [16 July 1973] 30915/74 Heading C4P Azo compounds with low solubility in water have the formula in which R 1 signifies Cl, Br, NO 2 , (C 1-4 )-alkylsulphonyl, phenylsulphonyl, (C 1-4 )-alkylcarbonyl or benzoyl; each of R 2 and R 3 independently is H, Cl or Br, with the proviso that at least one of R 2 and R 3 signifies H; each of R 4 and R 5 , independently, signifies a (C 1-4 )-alkyl or a radical of the formulae in which each of R 10 , R 11 and R 12 independently signifies H, Cl, Br, Me, -OMe or -OEt and R 6 signifies a (C 1-4 )-alkyl, (C 1-4 )-alkoxy-(C 1-4 )- alkyl, unsubstituted phenyl or phenyl substituted by up to three substituents selected from Cl, Br, Me, -OMe and -OEt. The dyes made by diazotization and coupling, give pink or violet hues on fibres such as linear or aromatic polyesters, cellulose acetates and synthetic polyamides.
