The pile driver which is designed to drive piles vertically, irrespective of the terrain and orientation of the carrying vehicle consists simply of two joints the first comprising a bar (2) supporting the body of the pile driver (5) and permitting a pendulum like movement between front and rear in the sense of direction of travel of the vehicle. The second joint consists of two bars (3, 4), supporting the first joint, and permitting a pendulum-like movement from left to right in the sense of direction of travel of the vehicle. This second joint is fixed to a system of translation (1) of the piledriver.
