An arrangement for supporting ships while in dry dock includes a support structure (10) resting on the bottom of the dock and a set of flexible tubes (14) between the structure and the hull of the ship (12). Each tube carries a cap (15) one end for connecting to a hydraulic circuit. At the other end is a similar cap (16) with a valve (25) for release of air. the hydraulic connection is made through a similar valve (24) in the other cap. The flexible tubes are armoured to withstand the pressures applied. the tubes are connected in parallel to the hydraulic circuit which has a pump or hydraulic compressor and an ejector connected to a hydraulic system.
