An appts. is claimed to develop the shed of a wave shed loom, where shaft sections carry the healds supporting the warps, with an eccentric drive to impart the wave motion. Additional shaft sections (II) are mounted with the main shaft sections (I) and are located at least within the zone between two drive sections. (II) are kinematically bonded to the eccentric drive to follow the phased motion of (I). The system allows wide fabrics to be produced and exploit the advantages of broad looms.
