The device has a piezoelectric actuator (10) changing a static cladding force exerted by a lip (9) of a window sealing strip (4) on a surface (31) of a movable lateral glass panel (3) of a motor vehicle or by the glass panel surface on the lip, into a transient force. The actuator induces ultrasonic vibrations of the lip or the movable glass. The actuator is controlled by a high frequency periodic pulse signal and is placed on the lip and the surface of the movable glass panel. An independent claim is also included for a method for reducing noise related to friction of a lip of a window sealing strip on a glass panel surface of a motor vehicle.
