The portable electronic calculator is designed to provide the value of a magnitude which varies in steps as a function of time base units and their value. The calculator has data input keys(2) and a numerical display system (9). The calculator contains a time base circuit (5) and a first memory (3). This first memory (3) receives by means of the keys, the base value of the magnitude in units of time base. A second memory (4) receives by means of the keys the value in time units of this time base unit. A counter (6) receives the output signals from the time base and memories and continuously displays the numerical value searched for.
