<p>A device for bending over the flanged edges of aluminium containers, has a vertical column (1) with a handle (2) on top, which can be pushed down to slide inside a slot (13) in a fixed body (14). This body has an overhanging upper jaw (6) and a lower jaw (3), both being stationary. A moving jaw (5) is attached by a screw (15) to the column (1). This jaw is pushed down against springs (4) towards the lower jaw when the handle is pressed. The flange (11, 12) of the container is compressed between the moving jaw (5) and the upper fixed jaw (6). The flange is guided by a curved chamfered end of the upper jaw (6), when the flange is circular. The upper jaw has an overhang (10) and the lower jaw has a similar overhang (9) for use with rectangular flanges.</p> |
