<p>The flange ring encloses intermediate rings (3, 5). The adjacent edges of the rings are bevelled, the wider part of the gap thus formed facing the gauge tube outer wall. The gap between the rings is filled with an elastic sealing ring (4), which, when the flange ring is tightened, due to the bevels is forced inwards against the tube wall. The end of the gauge tube is separated from the lower intermediate ring by a flat ring seal (8). A further seal (6) inserted in a slot on the lower face of the bottom ring, seals the joint between the connector union and the gland assembly. Damage to the gauge tube is minimised since there is no contact with the metal clamping rings.</p> |
