Adhesive coating application for carton cover plates - using relative movement of blank to application roller actuated by control fitted with signal generator

Method of adhesive coating of the cover plate of a level blank cut out for a packaging carton during their passage on a production line using at least one application roller. The cover plate to be coated in each case is brought into contact with the application roller by a relative movement between the carton cut out and the application roller. The relative movements to fit to and lift the carton cut out into the area of the application roller is actuated by a control device fitted with signal generators and initiated by markings on the carton cut-out; these may be in the form of coded markings shaped as cut outs which are subjected to a light sensor generating the signal to effect the relative movement.
