A visco-elastic damping arrangement for the swivelling motions of the tripod head of a line or TV camera combines small overall dimensions with an ensured freedom from seizing. The stem (8) is guided in the bore (3) of the housing (1) which contains in a larger bore (2) an elastomer tube (4); the viscoelastic damping gap is formed between the bore of the tube (4) and the periphery (7) of the stem. The tube is compressed by a screw cap (10) and a pressure ring (9). The spaces in the bore of the ring (9) and bore (3) act as reservoirs for the viscous lubricant. Additional grooves can be provided in the bore of the tube (4) but the stem (8) remains smooth. |
