A visual field test apparatus with projection recording comprises a projector which can be rotated about the vertical and a horizontal dome axis, with total reflection prisms of variable spacing for reflecting a light beam from a common fixed point located above and at a distance from the centre of the dome equal to 1/3 of the radius of the dome (15). The total length of the light beam, from the light source to the objective lens and to the light spot which is projected within the dome, is maintained constant during movement of the light spot along each vertical meridian of the dome, by varying the prism distance covered by the light beam. The projector allows selection of optimum test conditions.
