1509636 Styrene polymer/graft polymer compositions BAYER AG 29 July 1976 [30 July 1975] 31633/76 Heading C3M A moulding composition comprises (A) 10 to 90 parts by weight of a graft polymer produced by polymerization of styrene or styrene and acrylonitrile, the styrene being at least partially replaceable by alpha-methylstyrene, in the presence of an EPDM rubber, or a mixture of EPDM rubber and a saturated rubber. The polymerization being carried out in at least one aromatic, optionally halogen substituted hydrocarbon as solvent at a temperature above 80‹ C. and (B) 90 to 10 parts of a styrene homopolymer or a copolymer of a styrene with acrylonitrile or methacrylonitrile. Examples are given in which styrene, or alpha-methyl styrene, and acrylonitrile are grafted on to EPDM rubber, or a mixture thereof with ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, and at least one of the graft polymers is mixed with styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer.
|
