Joining two cable cores - using metal tube around the bared cores and supporting by concentric distance pieces

Two cores are joined together using a sleeve open at each end. At least one separator slides along on the sleeves, preventing any outer conduit from touching the sleeve. Process is esp. for joining telecommunication cables, avoiding damage to the inner cores or outer protective conductors or bending the cables.
