Stored information selective reproduction - compares nominal selection value input with actual value of relative position of data carrier to reading element

The individual items of information has assigned to them auxiliary data items. In a control unit a nominal value input for selection is compared with the actual value given by the relative position of the data carrier to the reading element. The data carrier is moved in rapid traverse until the nominal and actual values coincide and then at reading speed until complete reproduction of the information. The data carrier contains all there items of information and the auxiliary data items in duplicate and in an opposing parallel arrangement.
