Crossbar switch for telephone exchanges - has matrix of selector and actuating rods and crosspoint inserts as independent laminated components

The telephone exchange crossbar switch has selector and actuating rods, intersecting each other in a matrix pattern. The cross points of the two types of rods contain coupling inserts with associated coupling strips. The coupling point insert at the cross points are designed as self-supporting, laminated components. Preferably the coupling point inserts have at their top edge laterally mounted compressible rids for locking the insert in the rod formed honeycomb, or in the strips. The coupling point inserts may have their individual parts clamped together.
