1503427 Ophthalmic applicator MERCK & CO Inc 1 June 1976 [5 June 1975] 22633/76 Heading A5R [Also in Division B4] An ophthalmic applicator device for inserting solid medicament 11 below the eye lid and into the cul-de-sac of the eye comprises an elongate tip 1 of non-toxic, pliable material e.g. a styrene-butadiene or styrene-isoprene block copolymer composition or silicone rubber, two opposed jaws 3 integral with tip 1 and separated by a groove enabling jaws 3 to releasably grip said insert by frictional engagement, and a handle 5 in the shape of a sector of a circle attached to tip 1 at an angle, preferably of 45‹-90‹, thereto. A reinforcing rib 9 extends between handle 5 and tip 1. The device is preferably moulded as an integral article by injection moulding. |
