The half-moulds are moved continually downwards by the rotation of threaded spindles after they receive the blanks. These threaded spindles pass between the half-moulds. The bottom limit of travel of the blow moulds is provided by transverse beams, while the top limit of travel is provided by transverse beams, forming part of fixed frames. The instant at which the mould is closed, after the direction of movement of the tongues towards the blow head has been changed, must be accurately determined; the arrangement described with top and bottom cross-beams makes this possible. To change the appts. for the production of blow mouldings of a different height, it is only necessary to alter the distance between the cross-beams.
|
