Direction changing device for flexible card delivery systems - makes use of roller mechanism obviating use of deflecting flaps

A directional device is used for cards in a card delivery system such as a sorting mechanism for punched cards or other selection or sorting devices processing flexible cards. It is designed so that cards may be routed without coming in contact with guiding flaps such as are found in conventional systems. The cards pass through a pair of transporter rollers (12, 14) at least one of which is driven by a motor. One of the rollers may be rotated about the axis of the other in a circular path enabling a constant axial distance between the roller axes to be maintained. This enables the card exit direction to be changed. The roller may be rotated by an electromagnet operating on the roller mounting lever.
