The miniature static discharging device for persons, which can pref. be carried in the hand, has an electrically conductive grip (3) and an electrically conductive earthing contact piece (2), which are coupled via a resistance element, allowing painless static discharging. The discharging device pref. measures 15x15x15 centimetres and weighs no more than 500 grammes. The conductive grip (3) and the earthing contact piece (2) are pref. fixed to opposite ends of a hollow insulating rod (1), e. g. of plastics, and the coupling resistance between them may be a diode (4) or a diode (4) and a resistor (5) in series.
