1493332 Bowden mechanisms; springs AUTOMOBILES PEUGEOT and REGIE NATIONALE DES USINES RENAULT 3 Feb 1975 [20 Feb 1974] 4502/75 Headings F2S and F2K [Also in Divisions B7 B3 and E2] A latching mechanism for the bonnet of an automobile vehicle comprises a keeper G and a latch P, the keeper G comprising a mount 1 supporting a hairpin shaped spring 14 of which one arm 13 consitutes a fixed member and of which the other arm 15 constitutes a moveable member for latching engagement with a catch 23 on the latch P when the latch P is moved into an opening 16 in the mount 1; the two arms 13, 15 terminate at their free ends in coaxial eyes 13a, 15a for the attachment of a manually operable cable, operation of which causes movement of the movable arm 15 to release its latching engagement with the catch 23. Figs. 4 and 5 illustrate a double latching device for a vehicle bonnet with two latching mechanisms M1, M2, controlled by a cable 30 having an outer sheath 32 divided into two sections 31a, 31b. In Fig. 4 sheath section 31b is between the two fixed arms 13 and in Fig. 5 sheath section 31b is between the two movable arms 15. |
