The spelling unit has a synchronisation unit for the line and frame synchronisation. It has a manually adjusted symbol generator to produce a symbol on the screen. There is a similar symbol generator or guiding elements with light sensitive detector and a conincidence circuit which can change the composition of the image under certain circumstances. The unit (14) is designed to be used in combination with a television station, so that the background and other image information can be reproduced from the television station in combination with the information from the game. A detector is coupled to the receiver to check the horizontal and vertical synchronisation of the scanning signal produced by the cooperating television station. The detector is connected to the synchronisation.
